On our third day in Death Valley we went to Mosaic Canyon. An ancient river cut a canyon through this mountain and at some point a myriad of colorful rocks were deposited into its walls. So now when you hike up the canyon, in addition to many shocking golds and amber colored walls, there are also areas where the canyon actually looks like someone intentionally made mosaic works of art. I'll let the pictures talk for themselves.
On our final day in DV, we decided to do a big hike to Wildrose Peak. Its 8.4 miles out and back with about 2200 feet in elevation gain to the 9000+ ft peak. It took about 5 hours. We both had a great time and again I'll let the photos do the talking!
